A superbly designed SwimRun-specific wetsuit that provides excellent flexibility and buoyancy at an affordable price point.

The Product:

The new SwimRun Core Wetsuit is perfect for those wanting to swim and run without spending time having to change, as the suit can be adapted from water to land. The 2mm neoprene sleeves are removable and the full frontal zip can be lowered when desired.

These are simple additions, but could save you valuable seconds come race day.

The suit has an external pocket to keep small items you may need during the race, or valuables you may not want to leave alone – house keys for example.

The wetsuit is completely waterproof, so no water can be absorbed and potentially make you heavier and slow you down. The Swimrun Core gets its name for its excellent core support. The side and front panels are lined with 5mm and 4mm neoprene respectively, giving you a certain degree of lift around your core, saving it from excess fatigue. Flexibility is key and whilst this suit is buoyant and robust it has high stretch areas to allow you to swim naturally and run freely.

Key Features:

  • REMOVABLE ARMS – being able to remove the arms from this suit sets it apart from the rest. When swimming, the arms can be attached for extra buoyancy and warmth, and when running they can be detached for ventilation to help you stay cool.

  • POCKET – this is a handy extra, as not many wetsuits will have an exterior pocket. This could be used to house a navigation device or something else that you may need during your swim and run.

  • BUILT-IN WHISTLE - the SwimRun Core wetsuit comes with its own whistle (that are mandatory when competing in SwimRun races) and is designed to not get in your way during your swim but easily accessible in an emergency.
  • EXTENDED FRONT ZIP - this allows you to get extra ventilation as your run as well as helping to remove the suit at the end.
  • CORE SUPPORT – the Swimrun Core uses technology to help support your core. There are 5mm panels along the sides of the suit, combined with the 4mm ‘lifting panel’ at the front of the suit results in more buoyancy concentrated on your core. This will support and stabilise your core muscles to help to reduce anyway sideways movement without hindering your ability to roll.

  • WATERPROOF – this may seem obvious, but the fact the suit is completely impermeable means that your weight will not vary and affect your stroke or time.

  • FLEXIBLE – the suit has different materials throughout, and in the places where you need flexibility the most there is a stretchy nylon to promote freedom of movement.

ORCA MENS SWIM CORE WETSUIT

I am 5' 6'' tall with a 40'' chest and weigh 154 pounds. originally ordered a size 6 according to the Orca sizing chart but actually needed a size 7. Used the suit in Plymouth for the Dakes Island swim it performed well in the se just enough buoyancy. Compared to other suits the quality of manufacture stats out.
