Orca - 3.8 Enduro Wetsuit - Men's
An ideal wetsuit for the seasoned swimmer, with features to boost buoyancy
The new 3.8 is the perfect choice for the Progressive Swimmer, who needs a boost in buoyancy.
The Orca 3.8 Enduro men's wetsuit was designed with the goal of elevating your position in the water, with help from the most advanced buoyancy technologies on the market - Aerodome and Exo-cell - without compromising elasticity when it comes to swim strokes, with Yamamoto 40.
This wetsuit could be the one you need to conquer your swimming section.
HEP: The new 3.8 incorporates High Elbow Panel technology, which gives you more stability by keeping your elbow elevated with every stroke. After numerous biomechanical studies to improve stability, this Panel has been strategically placed to support, without limiting flexibility.
CORE LATERAL STABILIZER (CLS): The Core Lateral is a system of panels in the lower body section that limits twisting, blocking your core. With this technology, you can maintain good technique for longer.
AERODOME: This sandwich-like technology provides 30% more buoyancy, with hundreds of air pockets between the neoprene layers.
EXO-CELL: Exo-cell technology is incorporated throughout the lower front panel, providing maximum buoyancy. This low-density material will bring your legs to an elevated horizontal position.
1.5mm 40-CELL NEOPRENE: On top of providing maximum buoyancy, the 1.5mm 40-cell neoprene in the shoulders gives you the extra flexibility you need to keep from overloading your shoulders.
ZERO CHAFING: The lining in the neck area reduces the risk of chafing, while giving you extra comfort.
SPEED: The lower leg panels, made with Yamamoto 39-cell SCS coating, reduce friction while swimming. HydroLite panels will make your transitions even faster as they make the wetsuit easier to remove.
THE TECHNOLOGIES
-
YAMAMOTO
The Yamamoto Corporation is the world’s main supplier of high-performance neoprene. Its seal represents quality, technology and innovation.
-
0.88 FREE
0.88 Free technology has been developed together with Yamamoto exclusively for Orca, with the aim of producing the most elastic material available today. The construction of five layers of neoprene, combined with a warm, reflective titanium skin, is the secret to achieving the great thermal insulation of this lightweight material. The thinnest wetsuit on the market at only 0.5 mm thick, it combines the best lining with a layer of titanium to provide better thermal insulation. This revolutionary
-
CORE LATERAL STABILISER (CLS) WITH EXO-CELL
CLS is a panel made from Exo-cell which provides lateral rigidity on the abdomen to strengthen your core and thus prevent twisting. This technology helps you maintain an effective technique longer, raising your lower trunk for better performance, thanks to its 5mm thick side Exo-cell panels that provide 25% more buoyancy than the Aerodome.
-
EXO-CELL
Exo-Cell is a unique sandwich-designed neoprene that provides over 25% more buoyancy than Aerodome. Panels of Exo-Cell are used in strategic panels on the Predator, Alpha and 3.8 to optimize swimming position.
-
40 CELL
Yamamoto’s 40cell neoprene is the penultimate for flexibility, suppleness, fit and comfort. Second only to 44cell by the narrowest of margins and located in key high stretch areas on the Predator, Alpha and 3.8 suits, these panels contribute to providing a wetsuit swimming experience of the highest level.
-
NANO SCS
Super Composite Skin (SCS) has become the benchmark for coating the smoothskin neoprene used in triathlon wetsuits, to reduce friction and increase speed through the water. Orca uses Yamamoto Corporation’s latest Nano SCS for an even lower drag co-efficient, ensuring the fastest swim possible. The underwater co-efficient of dynamic friction of the Nano SCS is 0.026 in comparison to 4.0 of regular neoprene. Less friction means more speed!
-
HYDROLITE
The HydroLite panels help you to get wetsuit off more easily, for faster transitions. This technology, combined with the SCS coating, helps the water slide off your wetsuit, without permeating it, considerably improving your hydrodynamics.
-
INFINITY SKIN
The inner Infinity Skin lining provides the feeling of absolute freedom. Designed based on a high-elasticity nylon that incorporates bamboo fibres, this technology is applied to the lining of each Orca wetsuit to offer you greater flexibility with each stroke. This cloth maintains body heat longer, and reduces body odour and the appearance of bacteria in your wetsuit. It is also made from natural eco-friendly materials to prevent the appearance of skin irritation and care for the environment.
-
AERODOME 2
This new technology applied to the lower trunk area provides 30% greater buoyancy in the water. The secret lies in its composition: hundreds of cavities located between two layers of pre-treated neoprene. Unlike the Exo-lift, the inner layer of this material is made up of a high-quality lining that gives the wetsuit greater elasticity. Orca uses this material in the areas with the greatest body weight to raise you up to an optimal position in the water.
-
HIGH ELBOW PANEL (HEP)
After conducting many biomechanical studies with athletes such as Richard Murray and the BMC team, High Elbow Panel (HEP) technology has been strategically placed on the arm, in order to not limit flexibility. This technology is used in the 3.8 and helps you to keep your elbow up with each stroke, providing you with more stability while swimming.
