Orca - Women's Swim-Run Shorty Wetsuit

orca-white-logo-thin-mytriathlon.jpg

The Orca Core SwimRun is in short supply. We have managed to source some of last year's RS1, which are similar in quality to the 2017 Orca RS1 that sells for £329 - grab them while you can!

The Product:

The SwimRun Shorty is essentially the precursor to the RS1. It has been designed with flexibility in mind and can be worn for both the swim and the run section of a triathlon. It uses varying thickness of neoprene to support you and allow you freedom of movement where you need it; for example the arm and crotch panels are just 2mm to prevent bulky materials slowing you down.

This means you are protected and insulated: the buoyancy from the neoprene also helps to promote good posture in the water and support your core – the front leg panels are 7mm neoprene.

The suit’s rear has been treated with anti-abrasion technology so that any small scratches or falls will not inhibit the level of protection and support the suit gives. Once you are out of the water, there are front and back zips so that you can undo it as you wish once you are running; or remove it completely quickly and easily.

Key Features:

  • VERSATILE ARMS – this suit comes with guidelines so that you can trim the suit’s arms down to fit to you.
  • POCKET – this can be used to house a GPS system or other small items which you may need during your swim and run.
  • WATERPROOF – a completely impermeable suit means that your weight will not vary and thus affect your stroke or time.
  • FLEXIBLE – the suit has different materials throughout, and in the places where you need flexibility the most there is a stretchy nylon to promote freedom of movement. In areas such as the shoulders, arms and crotch the neoprene is 1.5mm and 2mm respectively.
  • BUOYANCY - the suit has 7mm front leg panels to improve your posture when swimming and to keep you warm.
  • DURABLE – the lower rear panel of the suit has been treated with DuraSkin technology. This means that your suit will be protected if it is scratched or if you fall.

ORCA'S TECHNOLOGIES

Yamamoto

YAMAMOTO

The Yamamoto Corporation is the world’s main supplier of high performance neoprene. Its seal represents quality, technology and innovation.

39 CELL

Yamamoto 39cell is an extremely flexible neoprene which supports an uninhibited natural swimming motion. 39cell extends to a 513% elongation rate, meaning this material is sure to move with you. Added benefits of zero water absorption and zero weight variation can mean only one thing: more speed. A fine balance between buoyancy and flexibility, 39cell is a durable material which will stand the test of time and distance, representing the best neoprene available in it’s class.

SCS

Acting as a coating over closed-cell neoprene, Super Composite Skin (SCS) has become the benchmark for coating the smoothskin neoprene used in triathlon wetsuits, to reduce friction and increase speed through the water. The micro-cell structure of the SCS coating repels water when in contact with air and reduces surface resistance when in contact with water. Less friction = more speed!

INFINITY SKIN

Constructed from a high stretch nylon, InfinitySkin is strategically placed where ultimate stretch is required and allows the wetsuit to move dynamically through your swim stroke.

HYDROLITE

HydroLite panels make transition that extra bit faster using the super fast SCS (Nano ICE in the Predator) which combined with a special lining which absorbs less water to improve buoyancy while also being extremely sleek -making the suit fast to remove in transition saving you precious seconds.

EXO-CELL

Exo-Cell is a unique sandwich-designed neoprene that provides over 25% more buoyancy than Aerodome. Panels of Exo-Cell are used in strategic panels on the Predator, Alpha and 3.8 to optimise swimming position.
