5 famous triathletes

Have you ever been in an ‘Iron Man’ competition and thought you recognised a face? The chances are you are busy concentrating on your swim, bike and run but don’t be surprised if you see a few celebrities en route. Read this list of famous people that like to push their bodies to the limit in their free time.
- Jenson Button: You’ve got to be fit to handle a F1 car around some of the most demanding race circuits in the world. So it’s no surprise really that 2009 World Champion Jenson Button loves to take part in triathlons in his spare time. Bet he’s pretty hard to catch!
- Vernon Kay: The well-known radio and television presenter completed the London triathlon back in 2010. He’s from Bolton in Lancashire but decided to head to the capital for his very first triathlon. Well done Vernon we say.
- Jennifer Lopez: Yep, the actress and singer is another surprising addition to the list, the super-fit 44 year old (is she really?) completed the Malibu triathlon in a rather impressive 2:23:28. She might be a judge on American Idol but she’s idolised by thousands of fans and held in high esteem by triathletes as well.
- Eddie Izzard: No stranger to marathons the infamous comedian also completed the Malibu triathlon and went rather better than J Lo finishing in 2:08:33. Not bad eh? Mr Izzard certainly knows how to get the best from his body.
- David Hasselhoff: Even the Hoff gets in on the action when it comes to triathlons. He’s taken part in the London triathlon in the past but then again, he did star as a lifeguard in Baywatch so he probably picked up a few swimming skills and got experience of running down the beach from the show!
