The ASSOS Werksteam edition of the race-proven RS Bib Shorts S9 returns, now incorporating external rollBars for added stability and butterfly panel to support your muscles securely and friction-free.

Countless hours in the saddle allow any rider to become hyper-focused on the details of what they wear.

Whether it's seam placement, stitch type, or how textiles react to changes in body temperature, this is how the ASSOS Werksteam is helping move forward the design of its clothing. This select group of riders is bringing lab concepts to life, and then helping to even further improve the finished products.

Such is the case with the Werksteam Bib Shorts, tuned for the performance-minded rider and year-round racer who makes no compromises in fit, function, or style.

The shorts incorporate ASSOS-developed A-Lock Engineering, a textile-patterning bracing system that stabilises the shorts and holds the insert in place as you pedal. Just two panels are used, with a primary 'butterfly' panel fully wrapping your legs to form the makers' ergoBox structure. This design frames the insert in place and provides you with an ultra-comfortable feel against your legs, thanks to the Type.441 textile, which has been developed for compressive hold and silky comfort.

ASSOS then added its unique rollBar, which mimics a race car's anti-roll bar by using the bib straps to keep the insert stable as your weight transfers in the saddle. Each strap is sewn into the seam directly above the insert, ensuring it stays constantly under pre-loaded tension.

The insert around which the shorts are constructed features a reduced overall footprint to shed weight, and is made with superAir microShock foam plus ASSOS' patented 3D waffle.

The stitch-free goldenGate returns, lending friction-free comfort while pedalling, while the kraterCooler system of holes increases airflow up front.

Finishing details include new white rollBars, reflective tonal thigh graphics, and new ultra-light leg grippers.

GARMENT TECHNOLOGY

A-Lock Engineering: S9 racingFit system comprising new textiles and technologies to stabilize the shorts and secure the insert in place.
Butterfly pattern: The primary textile panel fully wrapping the lower back and legs, coming together in the rear. Fewer seams leads to a more uniform hold, less weight, and greater comfort.
Type.441 knit: A patented 40-gauge warp knit, developed specifically for compressive hold and silky comfort. 200g/m2, UPF 50+, moisture wicking (idroFil fastDry), iceColor, odorControl, and extremely durable.
rollBar: A patented bracing design that mimics a race car’s anti-sway bar by using the bib straps to stabilize the insert and lock it in place as your weight transfers from left to right while cornering.
ergoBox: A square pattern built into the garment that effectively frames the insert in the back, boxing it in for added stability.
Carbon Xbib: A single section of elastic material—folded over on itself—forming a supportive A-frame that delivers limited vertical stretch in the rear. Above the “X” junction, a more flexible material is employed, incorporating an antibacterial carbon weave, to wick moisture and lay flat in the front.

zeroWaist: A raw-cut, tape-reinforced edge for the smoothest transition possible between your body and the fabric panel - more comfort with less pressure.
ultraLight Leg Grippers: Minimal silicone treatment secures the shorts in place without excessive pressure.
mod.Dep S9 Basalt: An antibacterial microfibre booster top sheet in a 3D basalt colourway.
superAir microShock foam: A lightweight open cell foam with a shock absorbing composition that returns to its original position, filling the gap every time pedaling position is changed in the saddle through the shift of weight.
3D waffle: A patented, three-layer perforated foam that increases breatheability without adding extra weight.
Surface Reduction Design: The surface area of the insert has been reduced from the previous Equipe Evo pattern to shed extra grams.
goldenGate: A patented technology that interrupts the stitching along both of the insert’s side panels, allowing a more three-dimensional freedom of movement in this sensitive, rotational area.
kraterCooler: System of small holes in the front of the insert that increases airflow so that your sensitive areas are kept cooler.
