Features and Benefits

In their quest for aerodynamic excellence, many triathlon frameset makers shorten the size of the triangle formed by the frame.

But this can make it more difficult for you to pull your bottle from its cage, as it needs a sideways movement.

So to overcome this problem, XLAB's engineers have designed a cage which fits every bit as well as a standard design, but has a cut-off angle of 30 degrees. This was found to be the optimum angle for making it easy and super-quick to release the bottle from its cage.

The cage also features a stiff bottom lip to support large bottles, a stiff upper tab to retain bottles in the cage, and slots in the back for vertical adjustment on the frame. The Chimp cage is made with the same high temperature and pressure process as the successful Gorilla rear cage and in extra stiff carbon.

The 6-arm design and graphics match the Gorilla so you can now have a consistent bottle cage design on your racing machine but with cages designed for each specific purpose. Use the Gorilla Cage for rear hydration carriers.
