Adaptable, all-mountain shorts have reached new heights, courtesy of a female-specific cut and progressive materials. The Trail WomenÕs Cargo Shorts have been developed with a waistband that smoothly holds the shorts in place, a cut thatÕs trim at the tops of the legs to avoid saddle snag, a length thatÕs ideal with or without pads, and a versatile new fabric that flexes with each pedal stroke. By poring over other Òbaggies,Ó we saw how their panels always bunch in odd places and the addition of fasteners, webbing, and zippers all contribute to unnecessary weight and pinching during pedaling. Our minimal approach uses an adaptable textile for the primary panels, one thatÕs equal parts durable and lightweight. More specifically, itÕs a bi-stretch woven thatÕs extremely consistent in terms of composition, translating to a fast-drying, comfortable material that holds up on the trail. With half of the shortsÕ formula sorted, we put the fit under the ASSOS microscope, creating a trim top block, starting with the highly elastic waist panel for a smooth, comfortable wrap on the waist, free of any unnecessary pressure. Moving down from there, we pulled the upper legsÕ circumference in to ensure your saddle can float between your legs, free of any material hang-ups. We then relaxed the lower portion of the legs and gave them a 12.5in inseam to be ideal with or without pads.
