Your smart trainer's direct drive belt is like the chain on your bike - unlike the service interval indicator on your car, there’s no set riding time or mileage to indicate when it’s time for it to be serviced. It all depends on how many hours you ride and how many watts the trainer has had to resist.

The more you ride, the harder you push, the sooner the belt will need to be replaced. You know the time has come when the belt teeth no longer line up, which can be diagnosed by a popping noise.

Saris hails from bike-crazy Madison, Wisconsin. From its roots in making curtain rods, the Graber brothers sold their company, then came up with their first bike rack. They sold lots of racks under the Graber name and then sold the company. New owners introduced a high end brand of bike rack in the early 1990s, renaming them 'Saris'.
